Is there a better VNC server out there that doesn't suck? It's infuriating to have to put up with this. If I connect to another mac (running either VNC server listed above) using Chicken of the VNC viewer, then they work fine. VNC works on every one of our Linux and Windows machines, but is nothing but a hassle when trying to view an OSX box from a PC. * The VNC viewer will create an appropriate sized window, then crash, then not allow any more connections from a PC (apple VNC server)īoth of the above will work under the TightVNC veiwer, but REALLY REALLY SLOW screen redraws even over gigabit ethernet!!! A subsequent connection will work, SOMETIMES (when using OSXvnc). We have gigabit ethernet throughout the facility to every workstation.Įvery time I try to VNC to a mac, one of the following happens: On the PCS we generally use RealVNC because it's really freaking fast. We have a few hundred windows PCs and a few dozen macs at our faclity. Is there such thing as a VNC server that doesn't suck?
